Thought Shift is a nonprofit initiative that transforms donations into free, targeted advertising designed to help people adopt healthier, more sustainable habits. We focus on small, achievable changes—because when many people shift their habits even slightly, the collective impact is enormous. Healthier choices reduce financial strain, emotional stress, and physical burdens across entire communities.
Our mission is to spark a personal thought shift that puts people back in control of their habits and strengthens overall well‑being. Our larger goal is to reduce the massive financial, emotional, and physical burdens caused by changeable habits, helping individuals and communities thrive with fewer avoidable costs.

The Issue: The Happiness WhirlwindConventional advertising sells temporary "highs" that often lead to emotional and financial self-harm. We’ve been trained to chase a whirlwind of products, but happiness that is bought is rarely permanent.
The Proposal: Advertising That TeachesThought Shift is a product-free, 501(c)(3) marketing agency. Our founder, Peter Faulk, built this mission after a near-death experience and severe depression forced him to rebuild his life from zero. He lost everything—but gained the blueprint for permanent bliss.

Unlike the Ad Council, which often focuses on directly promoting or discouraging specific actions (e.g., "Don't Litter," "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk," or the immediate act of quitting smoking),

Peter Faulk is the founder of Thought Shift, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving societal well-being through product-free marketing and habit change. His mission is deeply personal, rooted in a challenging life journey that was shaped by severe depression, self-starvation, and excessive self-medication. This culminated in a near-death experience that became the catalyst for a new life direction. This turning point was the best thing that ever happened to him; it allowed him to slow down and deeply examine what truly mattered.
Through his transformation and corrected focus, and many years of engaging with and learning from supporting individuals in prisons and recovery centers, Peter was inspired to create a new and unique preventative solution, a more proactive approach than laws and taxes.
He recognized that a proactive approach—addressing the mental and emotional drivers of harmful habits—was a missing piece in traditional recovery programs. This insight led to the founding of Thought Shift in 2019, an initiative that leverages the power of marketing and simple, consistent messaging to foster healthier habits and thought patterns.
Peter's passion is to use his professional expertise for the profound benefit of humanity. He believes that by encouraging individuals to "shift" their thinking, we can empower them to overcome adversity, reduce physical and emotional harms, and significantly lower the financial costs associated with unhealthy habits.
His dedication to serving the communities he engages with integrity, promoting dignity, and fostering collaboration is the driving force behind Thought Shift's mission to create a healthier, more mindful, and more prosperous future for all.
